Resort Restaurant Guide

These are our favourites, we're sure you'll find others worthy of inclusion so please tell us about them.

La Chouette
Located in the heart of Les Bruyeres. Tel: 04 79 00 21 26
Specialist creperie who also do Savoyade specialities and a 'Plat du Jour' (dish of the day). Fantastic Crepes (thin pancakes with sweet fillings) and gallettes (savoury thin pancakes) and the best Tartiflette we can find anywhere. The dish of the day is reliably delicious and exceptional value. This is a family run restaurant - the owner and his wife and daughter work all hours throughout the season and always extend a warm welcome. Booking (on the day) recommended and essential on Thursdays and Fridays.

La Mascotte
Located in Reberty, opposite the supermarket. Tel: 04 79 00 68 09
Savoyade specialities and a good fish menu. Slightly more refined food than most of the local restaurants with a range of sophisticated fixed price menus which are good value. Exceptionally good at Raclette (a regional speciality involving lots of melted cheese, cold meats, salad and potatoes). Again, this is a family establishment with mum and her two sons constantly in attendance throughout the season.

La Renardiere
Located in Reberty. Tel : 04 79 00 61 06
Great for pizzas and salads. Friendly staff and attractive, rustic décor. It’s only a couple of minutes away (just opposite the Spar supermarket) so easy to roll home afterwards.

Le Réfuge
Located in Les Bruyeres. Tel: 04 79 01 03 37
Very small restaurant which specializes in Bruschetta and is very good at it. Great for a delicious, low cost meal without any fuss.

La Hacienda
Located in La Croisette, downstairs from the shopping mall. Tel: 04 79 00 69 66
A small TexMex restaurant which is a bit of a novelty in France. Good representation of the usual Mexican stuff catering to French tastebuds - slightly milder and less 'gunky' than the normal UK offering. Their 'happy hour' is worthy of note (5pm till 7pm) with Margueritas for 1.5 euros and a selection of tapas.

L'Etoile
Located on the piste down into La Croisette. Can be reached by walking up the hill and through the Montagnettes development. Alternatively, you can arrange to be picked up from La Croisette in their mini piste basher.
Tel: 04 79 00 75 58
Lovely traditional mountain chalet with waiters in traditional costume (mostly the owner and his family). One of the most upmarket restaurants in the resort with higher prices but very good food and still good value for money. Booking essential.

La Trattoria
Located in La Croisette, alongside the arcade. Tel: 04 79 00 74 23
Excellent pizzas and a full range of savoyarde specialities - including Tartiflette cooked outside in a giant 'poelle' (frying pan) at lunch time. Also has a lively bar, frequented heavily by the local pisteurs and ESF instructors in early evening.

La Bouitte
Located in Saint Marcel (about 5 mins drive towards St. Martin de Belleville).
Tel: 04 79 08 96 77
Renowned local restaurant in a beautifully decorated traditional chalet. Gourmet food - a real gastronomic treat. They will pick you up and return you to Menuires. Booking essential.
